Fox Human Capital is advising an important organization in the manufacturing industry for the position of Mechanical Engineer III in Columbus, GA. This Mechanical Engineer III is responsible for piping and structural CAD design and leading others in good CAD design practices
::Responsibilities::
:: Develop CAD design specifications & standards to achieve departmental goals
:: Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM
:: Drive good document control using PDM / DBWorks
:: Drive standardization, rationalization, and simplification of varying complex designs
:: Drive team collaboration to achieve standardized subassemblies across multiple product
:: Assist in leading team of 4-6 people to release production 3D CAD drawings
:: Develop and manage kits and subassemblies to set manufacturing up for success
:: Communicate changes and requirements to all departments involved
:: Work with vendors to obtain data and requirements for components
:: Design and/or redesign products to improve labor efficiency and material costs
:: Design products for manufacturability and ease of Assembly.
::Qualifications & Requirements::
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
:: Requires 5+ years related experience in 3D CAD design
:: Requires expert knowledge of CAD software (Solidworks & Auto-Cad)
:: Experience with structural & sheet metal design on new product projects
:: Must be able to manage multiple projects and hit timelines
:: Excellent communication, and documentation skills.
:: The ability to standardize, rationalize and simplify (to make the complex design simple)
:: Design experience in reviewing models, drawings, and Bills of Material
:: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
:: Sense of ownership with projects and work assignments.
:: SolidWorks Certification a plus.
:: Knowledge of SAP environment a plus.
:: Solid Edge experience a plus
