Fox Human Capital is conducting a search on behalf of a Canadian multinational mining company. Our client is seeking a technically strong Accounting Specialist to work remotely, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and structure across accounting operations.

The Role

The Accounting Specialist will report to Finance leadership and play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and structure across accounting activities. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for core accounting processes and supervision of a small team.

Key Responsibilities

:: Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance

:: Lead and execute the monthly closing process with discipline and reliability

:: Perform account reconciliations, inventory controls, and detailed account analysis

:: Maintain and validate the trial balance, ensuring integrity of financial data

:: Supervise a small team across AP, AR, and consolidation activities

:: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and audit requirements

:: Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls

:: Contribute to building structure and consistency across accounting operations

Ideal Profile

:: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or equivalent required)

:: Approximately 5+ years of experience in accounting or controllership roles, preferably within industrial or mining environments

:: Previous experience in Big4 environments, particularly with IFRS audit exposure

:: Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP

:: Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities

:: Experience with Canadian operations and international exposure considered a plus

:: Detail-oriented, organized, and hands-on professional with a strong sense of ownership

:: Collaborative and reliable, with the ability to work effectively within small teams
