Fox Human Capital is conducting a search on behalf of a Canadian multinational mining company. Our client is seeking a commercially driven Sales Controller to work remotely bringing structure, visibility, and financial discipline to its growing commercial operations.
The Role
The Sales Controller will report to senior Finance leadership and operate in a high-visibility position with direct exposure to executive stakeholders and the Board. This role will be instrumental in building financial transparency across revenue streams, margins, and cash flow — particularly within a currently under-structured environment.
The position requires strong business partnering with Sales, as well as the ability to design processes, enhance forecasting accuracy, and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
:: Build and enhance visibility over revenue streams, cash flow, and payment cycles, ensuring clarity in financial performance
:: Develop accurate and reliable financial forecasts based on volume, pricing, and cost drivers
:: Monitor and analyze gross margin and commercial performance indicators, identifying risks and opportunities
:: Define, track, and report key financial and operational KPIs to support business decisions
:: Prepare and present management P&L to senior leadership and Board members
:: Oversee financial aspects of shipments, inventory, and transfer pricing dynamics
:: Strengthen financial processes and internal controls in collaboration with external partners
:: Establish governance over financial processes currently decentralized within Sales
:: Support strategic decisions through data-driven financial insights
:: Address key challenges such as limited revenue visibility, margin leakage, and inconsistent forecasting data
:: Deliver measurable impact within the first 3–4 months in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Ideal Profile
:: Strong background in FP&A and Controllership within industrial, mining, or heavy industry environments
:: Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced, or under-structured settings, with a hands-on and execution-driven mindset
:: Experience building financial processes, controls, and governance frameworks from the ground up
:: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to partner effectively with Sales teams
:: Working knowledge of IFRS, with exposure to pricing and transfer pricing dynamics considered a plus
:: Experience with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA and exposure to multi-region operations is a plus
:: Fluent English (mandatory)
:: High level of ownership, resilience, and accountability, with the ability to perform under pressure
:: Strong communication skills and executive presence to interact with senior stakeholders and the Board
